Mr. Foster never saw the Suwannee River, but I've swum in it, kayaked it, and sat by it and played banjo many times. For since before I was born--this was Florida's state song. It has been recently changed to a tune that is better performed by formal choruses, but to many Floridians, this will always be Florida's song.
